Before joining the team at Real Simple, Katie was an associate editor at Apartment Therapy, where she became well-versed in reversible decor for rentals and small spaces. She also spent three years at Martha Stewart Living, where she wrote feature stories, dyed Easter eggs, and helped decorate a snowy Vermont barn for a holiday photo shoot.
When she’s not writing, you’ll find her installing wainscoting and hanging up gallery walls in her 90-year-old Brooklyn apartment. She’s working on transforming the formerly vine-covered backyard into a rambling, English-style garden (she’ll keep you posted on the progress).
