Trying to get through The Mist in Hollow Knight: Silksong? On the edge of Bilewater lies The Mist, a region clad in fog that's full of randomised rooms. If you venture into this maze without knowing what to do, you'll become needlessly lost, and if Hornet takes a wrong turn, she'll be sent back to the beginning of the maze.

Luckily, there are a few tricks to make it through this disorientating place, and you needn't try to brute force your way through the Silksong Mist. In this guide, we'll explain how to navigate The Mist in Hollow Knight: Silksong, ensuring that you'll never get stuck in its murky confines for any longer than necessary.

Hollow Knight Silksong: How to get through The Mist

To reach The Mist in Hollow Knight: Silksong, head to the far left edges of Bilewater and Sinner's Road. There are two entrances, but no matter which one you take, you'll always start in the same place - a foggy area with some white butterflies flittering around a lamppost. Follow them to enter the first real room of The Mist, which will be massive.

Each room of the Silksong Mist contains more of those white butterflies. Find the flies, play your Needolin near them, and then follow as they fly to the correct exit. After approximately three rooms of doing this, you'll reach a halfway point and another foggy lamppost. Proceed and do the same routine for another three rooms and the flies will lead you to the actual exit.

Don't have the Needolin? You can get this skill by beating the Widow boss in Bellhart - which requires you to first unlock the Cling Grip wall jump in Shellwood.

While knowing that you need to follow the flies makes The Mist considerably easier, there are a few other challenges that you need to keep in mind:

And that finishes our look at getting through The Mist in Hollow Knight: Silksong. It's actually fairly straightforward once you know what to do - but the same doesn't go for many of the other nefarious regions of Pharloom. Luckily, our walkthrough and bosses list are great resources that can help you guide Hornet to her final destination at the top of this kingdom ruled by silk and song.
