Critics Consensus

DASHCAM is visually and thematically provocative, although the film's grating protagonist undercuts its effectiveness.

Edward Porter Times (UK) The blurry, jerky photography is a bit annoying, but the supreme irritant is the woman herself, a childish, potty-mouthed American visitor to the UK. Rated: 1/5 Aug 24, 2022 Full Review Richard Whittaker Austin Chronicle Dashcam, unlike few films, relies on your annoyance. Jun 6, 2022 Full Review Clarisse Loughrey Independent (UK) Dashcam makes a good point: when the whole world’s coming at you through a screen, it becomes increasingly hard to tell the difference between life and entertainment. Rated: 4/5 Jun 3, 2022 Full Review Hector A. Gonzalez The Movie Buff DASHCAM is an anarchic disappointment. It has the bloody brigades for gorehounds, except it is haunted by poor camerawork and a completely unlikeable main character. Rated: D Sep 8, 2024 Full Review Kat Halstead Common Sense Media While we've seen plenty of antiheroes over the years and a flurry of "unlikable" female characters in the wake of Fleabag, Annie takes the concept to a whole other level. Feb 22, 2024 Full Review Bill Bria Vague Visages Dashcam is a mainstream horror film that’s very much in the tradition of other punk exploitation filmmakers like Lloyd Kaufman and his Troma group, a shock rock-style movie that’s brazenly and irresponsibly controversial. Paul totally different type of horror movie. I loved it!! And it was funny as heck also. 🤪 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/05/22 Full Review Faith C I created an account solely to rate this movie. This is one of the worst movies I have ever seen. The main character is so unbearable on all ends. The writing is purely lazy. Her phone should’ve died or fallen out of her hands at more logical points. There are zero redeeming qualities and it doesn’t even become comedy from how awful it is. There isn’t even a plot, it just goes on and on. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/20/25 Full Review Justin K I enjoyed this so much and yes she's like her character. She actually does these rap freestyle. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/22/24 Full Review Matt W The most unbearable character I've seen in a movie. It's distracting, and makes the movie hard to watch. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 11/13/24 Full Review Audience Member This movie's premise drew me in and some parts of it was really good, however, the main character is the most brain dead woman to ever grace a found footage film. the use of slurs felt so misplaced every time. it took me out of it 100% but the best friend dude was a great actor! I enjoyed his character and the old lady too. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 11/07/24 Full Review KaityMarie A This was the worst and most disturbing movie ever but in the best possible way. I was laughing one second and then scared to death from a jump scare. I think this the kind of movie that is so unserious you can’t help but love it. Personally one of my favourites as of recently Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/05/24 Full Review Read all reviews
