Critics Consensus
Halloween Ends -- for now, anyway -- with a frequently befuddling installment that's stabbed, slashed, and beaten by a series of frustrating missed opportunities.
Audience Says
Halloween Ends packs a few slasher thrills, but many fans will be disappointed by the way it concludes Michael Myers' gory saga.
Christina Newland iNews.co.uk While Halloween Ends does provide something close to the catharsis that long-time fans of the franchise may be seeking, it does it in a manner that still feels a tiny bit lacking. Rated: 3/5 Sep 18, 2024 Full Review Mark Kermode Kermode and Mayo's Take (YouTube) Some of it is gory; the opening is good. None of it is scary. Worse, none of it has any tension whatsoever. Jan 3, 2024 Full Review Candice Frederick HuffPost “Halloween Ends” is a bummer. And everything about it makes it seem like it’s willing to go. We should let it. Dec 6, 2022 Full Review Justin Kim Loud and Clear Reviews Halloween Ends is a Halloween movie that doesn’t seem to want to be a Halloween movie, and suffers all the more for it. Rated: 2.5/5 Jan 6, 2025 Full Review Matt Brunson Film Frenzy Awful. Rated: 1/4 Nov 9, 2024 Full Review Sarah Vincent Sarah G Vincent Views It is the horror equivalent of a 70s sitcom relying on misunderstandings to move the plot back to Laurie and Mike instead of sticking to the film that they wanted to make: Corey, the Son of Michael Myers. Nathan “Where’s Michael” This was me 35 mins into the film. This movie didn’t feel like a Halloween movie felt more of a teenage horror love story girl like guy..guy is low key a villain blah blah blah not the best. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 11/19/24 Full Review KXF 1/5. Words cannot explain how disappointing this was. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 11/01/24 Full Review Shane B Pretty solid movie. The only problem with it is that it calls itself a Halloween movie. It isn’t. The character they want to be Michael Myers isn’t, and even if it was, he was barely in the movie to begin with. I think this was done on purpose, David Gordon Green was paying homage to Halloweens 1 through 3 with his trilogy. Each of his movies pays homage to the tone and atmosphere of its past counterpart. Other than that it’s a solid story, with solid characters. Just don’t expect a Michael Myers movie. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/28/24 Full Review Markay Jamie Lee is phenomenal i never want the Halloween saga to end ! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/18/24 Full Review Edlyn G We truly enjoyed this movie. Can never get enough of Michael .. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/04/24 Full Review Antonio S This hurt to do because I'm a Michael Myers fan but when the star of the movie is in the movie for 5 minutes and gets embarrassed, it defeats the purpose of Halloween. The entire movie is spent on a random kid. Massive disappointment to the Halloween franchise. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/31/24 Full Review Read all reviews
