Critics Consensus

There's nothing particularly distinguished about it, but for Schwarzenegger fans The Last Stand provides perfectly undemanding entertainment.

Wesley Morris Grantland The weaponry is so ridiculously bountiful that the movie must be a defense against something. But it's just another lousy action movie. Pallas K I recently watched a classic action movie featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger. It had everything you'd expect from an old-school action flick - epic shootouts, powerful guns, and speedy cars. The storyline was more interesting than your typical action movie, not overly profound but creatively executed. The usual villains attempted to flee using helicopters or planes, but this time they were chased down in a souped-up Corvette Z1. If you enjoy traditional action movies, I highly recommend giving this one a watch. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/16/24 Full Review Rifat A The Last Stand" presents a mix of action and humor, with Arnold Schwarzenegger in the lead. While the film delivers on the expected adrenaline-pumping sequences and showcases Schwarzenegger's enduring charisma, it falls short of leaving a lasting impression. The plot feels somewhat formulaic, and the characters lack the depth needed to fully engage the audience. Despite my meh rating, fans of classic Schwarzenegger action may find it worth a watch for the nostalgic elements, but overall, "The Last Stand" doesn't quite reach the heights of other action films in the genre. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/03/24 Full Review Steve D Knoxville is too annoying to watch. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 10/22/23 Full Review Daniel W 8/10 - A very kick ass action comedy film, Arnie is back. The film is a bit slow at the start but during the beginning some characters are introduced and the early scenes provide a bit of mystery about what the bad guys are trying to achieve which can be fun to figure out. As soon as the main bad guy is introduced the action pretty much does not stop. And we are shown a wide range of car chases and shoot ups that are very intense. But in between these shoot 'em up and car chase scenes there is some dialogue which does build up characters but also can be a little boring. The last act of the film is also very action packed and full of gun fights that involve all kinds of weapons from shot guns to pistols to a kick ass chain gun. There is also some comedy in these action scenes and this is sometimes funny but some of the jokes make it seem a bit less intense. The last fight between Arnold Schwarzenegger and the main bad guy also involves a good car chase and some great hand to hand combat which finishes the film off very nicely. And makes you realise that Arnold Schwarzenegger is still a good actor and this is probably one of the best films he has been the main character in since Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/29/23 Full Review Emilliano Jr S Tired of Arnold's trying hard humor. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 08/10/23 Full Review T. S This movie was great! A must-see action pack, older loved Arnold is here to stay. The comedic releases adds to the suspense. Don't let the boring critics sway you away from a fun film!
