Critics Consensus
Proudly, shamelessly, and gloriously brainless, Sharknado redefines "so bad it's good" for a new generation.
Michael O'Sullivan Washington Post 11/21/2013 It's bloody good fun. Go to Full Review Mary McNamara Los Angeles Times 07/26/2013 Oh sure, it's easy to pick holes in a story about a weather system that makes it possible for sharks to fly and take to the streets, but that's the whole point of movies like this: fabulous in-home commentary. Go to Full Review Jazzmin Crawley Girl, That's Scary (Podcast) Mar 28 This movie knows what it is and rides the self-awareness for the whole movie. It's plenty of fun if you love silly shark movies. Ben W 08/16/2023 Cheesy and corny fun! Had a blast revisiting this. Really fun and hilarious! 😂 See more Robbie D @RT78184041 3d Wtf was this movie?! 😂 See more Compilation W @RT40820305 4d Sharknado isn’t just the greatest movie ever made—it’s the pinnacle of human civilization. The invention of fire? Impressive. Landing on the Moon? Cute. But neither comes remotely close to the artistic achievement of watching a tornado weaponize sharks. Every frame belongs in a museum, every line of dialogue should be carved into marble, and every flying shark deserves its own national holiday. Ian Ziering doesn’t give performance—he delivers a divine revelation. The visual effects aren’t "low budget"; they’re simply too advanced for modern audiences to comprehend. Christopher Nolan should be taking notes. Martin Scorsese should send a thank-you card. By the end of the film, I had laughed, cried, applauded, questioned my existence, and briefly considered changing my religion. The Academy owes this masterpiece at least 97 Oscars, including Best Shark, Best Tornado, and Best Combination of Both. If humanity ever has to convince aliens we’re worth saving, we should simply screen Sharknado See more Faith O @faithopar May 29 I was recommended this movie by a friend and wow, soooo entertaining i definitely don't regret making time for it. I literally laughed the whole time. Let me not spoil the movie for you, watch and find out how fun it is. See more Meddy S @RT51609981 May 29 I really enjoyed the first Sharknado; I felt like this movie was made purely for fun. The sharks flying through the tornado make it seem like a joke. I absolutely loved it and highly recommend it. See more gabriela S @RT45072225 May 28 Physically, the sharks would already be dead, torn to pieces by the tornado. See more Read all reviews
