Rand The set design, the voices, the comfort of seating and watching with popcorn in my lalp! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/05/25 Full Review Leon R The dancing was surprising and beautiful. The voices incredible, and the sets unbelievalbe. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/04/25 Full Review TisHerself It was my first opera & I loved Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/03/25 Full Review Margaret B The 5 principals (Aida, Amneris, Radames, Amonasro and Ramfis) were portrayed by excellent singers and actors. The overture introduction of the archeologists was interesting, like the museum connection in Akhnaten. The "bookended" idea of the dagger was interesting, but the ritual suicide, a la Madama Butterfly, seemed really out of order. The concept of tomb raiding (as opposed to bringing tribute to the victor) during the triumphal celebration was jarring. The kilt-like costumes of the male dancers during that celebration were too revealing during their leaps and turns. Other than those, the costumes were beautiful and the sets were evocative and not overdone. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/03/25 Full Review KJ I loved “Aida”. Angel Blue is a phenomenal opera singer and actor. The entire cast was amazing too. I love HD live stream. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/03/25 Full Review Kat Amazing music, dance, costume and set designs. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/03/25 Full Review Read all reviews

Synopsis Soprano Angel Blue makes her long-awaited Met role debut as the Ethiopian princess torn between love and country, one of opera's defining roles. Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin takes the podium for Michael Mayer's spectacular new staging, which brings audiences inside the towering pyramids and gilded tombs of ancient Egypt with intricate projections and dazzling animations. Mezzo-soprano Judit Kutasi, following her 2024 debut in Verdi's La Forza del Destino, is Aida's Egyptian rival Amneris, and tenor Piotr Beczała is the soldier Radamès--completing opera's greatest love triangle. The all-star cast also features baritone Quinn Kelsey as Amonasro and bass Dmitry Belosselskiy as Ramfis.
