Critics Consensus
Wonder Woman 1984 struggles with sequel overload, but still offers enough vibrant escapism to satisfy fans of the franchise and its classic central character.
Christina Newland iNews.co.uk At its best, WW84 has a lot of imagination and verve, but it’s not quite enough to justify its unwieldy feel. Rated: 3/5 Sep 23, 2024 Full Review Sheri Flanders Chicago Reader Wonder Woman 1984 is a technicolor, lighthearted romp through the era of Jazzercise, big hair, and even bigger shoulder pads. Feb 1, 2021 Full Review Rafer Guzman Newsday A serviceable sequel, elevated by its radiant leading lady and an over-the-top villain. Rated: 2.5/4 Jan 4, 2021 Full Review Hanna Flint Radio Times Gadot, Wiig and Pedro Pascal put in strong performances under returning director Patty Jenkins, and their sizzling chemistry as well as the explosive fight scenes are sure to keep fans entertained. Rated: 3/5 Aug 22, 2024 Full Review Denise Pieniazek Puesta en Escena (AR) Something that I have maintained since Wonder Woman (2017) is that the most interesting thing about these new cinematographic transpositions is the representation of the universe of Themyscira... Rated: 6/10 Aug 16, 2024 Full Review Nadya Martinez Otakus & Geeks Major disappointment, little to no wonder. Aside from stereotypical origin stories and bad writing we are left with so many unanswered questions. Rated: 5/10 Jul 16, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews
Ashish V superb packed action movie Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/23/24 Full Review R H Loved Chris Pine and Gal Gadot. Story just wasn’t very strong or engaging. More about WW, than everyone else. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 11/05/21 Full Review Gregory Your review will help others decide whether to watch. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/03/21 Full Review Billy L Not great but I got a laugh out of Pedro Pascal chewing scenery. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 06/17/21 Full Review Ryan H. I felt like I was watching three movies in one. They definitely didn't take the time editing as well as they should have. very long and adventurous, but does not live up to its predecessor. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 06/03/21 Full Review Mark Very long. Maybe too much action. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 05/06/21 Full Review Read all reviews

Synopsis Diana Prince lives quietly among mortals in the vibrant, sleek 1980s -- an era of excess driven by the pursuit of having it all. Though she's come into her full powers, she maintains a low profile by curating ancient artifacts, and only performing heroic acts incognito. But soon, Diana will have to muster all of her strength, wisdom and courage as she finds herself squaring off against Maxwell Lord and the Cheetah, a villainess who possesses superhuman strength and agility.
