Critics Consensus
Big Mouth's simplistic animation and scatalogical humor belie its finely sketched characters and smart, empathetic approach to the messiness of adolescence.
Troy Patterson The New Yorker Naturally, an honest take, in a frank idiom, on the crude rituals and abject humiliations of pubescence will toy with forbidden thoughts. Big Mouth does so as a matter of course, for reasons organic to its characters. Nov 20, 2017 Full Review Alison Herman The Ringer Big Mouth is able to explore its relatively mundane material in entertainingly creative ways. Oct 26, 2017 Full Review Sarah Gosling Guardian It might be simple gross-out comedy, but it also feels like we should be talking about this stuff more openly and more often. Oct 23, 2017 Full Review Michael Cuby them. Big Mouth surprised many by being much more than an endless stream of crass jokes, proving itself to be a sensitively-drawn meditation about growing up. Nov 16, 2022 Full Review Nazareno Brega Clarín One of the program's virtues is the space that it gives the [female characters' world]. [Full review in Spanish] May 31, 2019 Full Review CJ Johnson Film Mafia Extremely clever, original and defiantly edgy ... masturbation, menstruation and everything else is covered in graphic and lurid detail, with mostly very funny results. Max H It was good and even tho people say it is a inappropriate series sesulizing children I must say that that's NOT true, teens go through changes they experience new things. This show really shows that and I as a teen think it's good to show reality in such way Euphoria is also about minors but I don't see anyone complaining about that series so with that said. Good series depending on humor personally not really my thing tho but still good. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 10/11/24 Full Review Dylan M I still can’t believe this has a 100% Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 08/25/24 Full Review Truman S While some viewers might be appalled by the shock factor of this show, it still provides effortless humor and a great, relatable storyline with out of the box hilarious characters. Love it. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 06/04/24 Full Review Tristan C First few seasons are great. A relatable and fresh comedy that will have you cringing in every scene but it's probably a show that had it's moment and should have left it there... Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/02/24 Full Review Alice W So embarrassingly bad and cringe why has this got such a high rating it's the worst show I've ever seen Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/28/24 Full Review John A Horrible overrated show Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/24 Full Review Read all reviews
