Andrea Thompson Chicago Reader For anyone who has some stamina left for metahuman fare, it’ll likely do something truly remarkable: leave them eager for whatever comes next. Dec 11, 2024 Full Review Ben Travers indieWire Now he’s at it again with Creature Commandos, and while the third time isn’t exactly the charm, its easy-going, character-first approach to another story about incarcerated criminals thrust together to save the world largely works to its advantage. Rated: C+ Dec 6, 2024 Full Review Rafael Motamayor TheWrap ... A fun, endearing start to a new cinematic universe that offers gore, thrills, laughs, and emotions galore. Dec 6, 2024 Full Review Jonathan Garcia Dynamic Duel Podcast Though highly mature and violent, DC Studios’ initial foray packs fun action spectacle and dire stakes while conveying that behind every monster is a tragedy. Rated: 4/5 Jan 23, 2025 Full Review Víctor López G. Espinof James Gunn confirms with a splash of adult animation that the DC Universe is in very good hands, offering a new cocktail of violence packed action, over-the-top comedy, and a huge heart. Dec 27, 2024 Full Review Isaiah Colbert io9.com Not only does the show pack a lot of information, sleek action, and side-splitting comedy into its 22-minute premiere episodes, Creature Commandos also carries on Gunn’s penchant for endearing viewers to previously unknown, imperfect heroes. Andrei D Some good voice acting and a few cool character moments but the flashback structure is dumb and if this is the new DC then it has some way to go before getting good Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/06/25 Full Review Audience Member I swear, James Gunn is a master when it comes to these kinds of shows or movies. Somehow, he always nails it, and this show is no different. A very enjoyable watch! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/01/25 Full Review Konnor C This was really bad. I figured I'd leave a review because I'm sitting here with my jaw on the ground watching the credits roll on. It just ended, and nothing wrapped up, literally nothing. The main villain gets offed before she does anything cool like she was shown to do in her dream they gave waller. I want to watch that show, much better looking story with much better characters. Also every single one of these "tragic" characters has the lamest back story ever except maybe radiation guy. This is just bad, it's just terrible and I don't quite have the words to describe it. Some of the kills were kinda cool, again all from radiation guy. That's why it's get one star and not zero. I don't understand how people are reviewing this so high. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/27/25 Full Review Aaron C I enjoyed the backstories of all the individual team members of the Creature Commandos. However, the Bride's plot armor in one of the major battles was ridiculous even by comic book standards. Generally the plot was interesting and well-executed. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/26/25 Full Review Sawyer M This show truly had potential to be absolutely phenomenal. I give it 3 and a half stars for a very equal balance. Some characters are worth the watch, however some are more stereotypical. The plot is unique, sure, and a few aspects of some characters add a compelling depth to them, but it doesn't undermine the disappointment of their overall dynamics. Some scenes can make you go, "Um, what?" While others can make you go, "You've gotta be f**king kidding me." But you know what, some can even make you go, "Hell yeah." Either way, I just believe the best thing this show can do is piss you off. Don't take it too personal, but it could've really done better in my opinion. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/24/25 Full Review Tom R I did not think I would like the art style but gave it a chance since it was the first Gunn-verse Man ... these characters are raunchy!! Ended up really liking it Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/24/25 Full Review Read all reviews
