Brad Newsome Sydney Morning Herald This intriguing mystery series feels a little choppy at first, but once you get used to the fact that it's dealing out the story in slices of three different summers, '93, '94 and '95, the conceit proves highly effective. Ky J This show was literally so good. The ending had me gagged!!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/12/24 Full Review Keyi Y A gripping tale, full of twists and turns you won't regret watching. Although there is quick alternating in between the 3 years, viewers never lose track of at which point of the story they are in. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/19/23 Full Review Good F The best mystery since Season 1 Broadchurch (UK). If Freeform had an advertising budget, this would've beaten anything HBO has to offer. First off, this type of mystery has NEVER been explored, therefore every twist within the mystery is original too. The cast is PERFECT. The side characters, the parents, and the two leads compliment eachother perfectly. Seriously, I binged this season so fast I was sad I couldn't keep it going. The mystery itself is great, but the side stories are actually fascinating enough to keep you hooked without the main arc involved. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/13/23 Full Review Shendo J. M Series with great plot twists, the series manages to make you eat your head trying to guess how the events really were. Good acting and good characters! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 08/25/23 Full Review C R Cruel Summer was a really good show. Tense and brooding at times, with a few twists along the way and was much better than I expected. It jumped around between a couple of periods in time, but managed to do that quite well and make it easy enough to follow for the most part, where some movies and TV series struggle with that. Not a bad watch at all 🙂 Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 08/19/23 Full Review Aldis H This show has a bit of a lag here and there, and a couple of confusing moments, but in the end it is exceptionally well done. It is original in concept and execution until you get to the end, where they just have to hit you with another twist, a trope, which I wasn't super crazy about, but it was unquestionably effective. Overall, solid entertainment from beginning to end. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 08/05/23 Full Review Read all reviews
