Critics Consensus

Grand Crew doesn't immediately find its comedic footing, but this cast of friends -- especially the effervescent Nicole Byer -- are promising company.

Daniel D'Addario Variety The show is unafraid to explore its characters, both who they are and whom society expects them to be; by the eighth episode, Byer's charisma is just one of the many tools this promising ensemble show has on its side. Jan 4, 2022 Full Review Brian Tallerico RogerEbert.com The cast is likable enough that the writing may get better to match their charisma, but the early episodes feel desperately off in their comic timing. Jan 4, 2022 Full Review Angie Han The Hollywood Reporter Grand Crew feels too chaotic to go down as smoothly as it should. But give it time, and it could yet mellow into a perfectly balanced glass. Dec 14, 2021 Full Review Proma Khosla Mashable Every combination of any of these characters is engaging and hilarious, a feat that takes most shows years to pull off. Mar 18, 2022 Full Review Chelsea Steiner The Mary Sue Grand Crew sets itself apart with terrific cast chemistry and lived-in performances. Jan 24, 2022 Full Review Monique Jones Common Sense Media A mature comedy that expands Black characterizations on TV. Rated: 4/5 Jan 18, 2022 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member Was really impressed with this show for a basic network show, incredibly fun to watch with a funny and lovable cast. It’s “Friends,” but in a wine shop instead of a coffee shop, better writing, and no cringe. So naturally it was cancelled. Because network TV. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 08/31/24 Full Review Maxx B The first season was enough to keep me entertained (at times). Unfortunately the second season felt like a chore. I still am on the 4 episode trying to finish. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 07/02/23 Full Review D. H My household finds the comedy GRAND CREW to be the best ever!! Our entire family look forward each week to sitting together to see what, who and why happenings with best friends and even their friends. We love it so much because our children and us can talk about it, laugh and relate to it in so many ways. We have even recommended the show to other friends and family. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/09/23 Full Review Tiffany B It's a clever and innovative comedy that shades an unique light on black culture, friendship, and of course, there's wine. The chemistry of the cast is perfect! Sherm is my favorite character. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/23/23 Full Review jhanel p As a black woman, I love how this shows reveals the different layers in our community. I love how we are humanized and portrayed — the perfect amount of comedy and real life situations. I love the actors/characters— me and Noah's character would be a match made in heaven.
