Brian Tallerico The Playlist Whether this is the show to really push that reputation now or something that people catch up with long down the road, viewers are likely to be satisfied when they do. Rated: B Oct 29, 2021 Full Review Alex McLevy AV Club It's simply an opportunity to watch some gifted actors do what they do, very well, with a story that glides along in entertaining but unoriginal manner. Rated: B- Aug 30, 2021 Full Review Charlotte Harrison Charlotte Sometimes Goes to the Movies An unexpected slow burn, this is brutal and full of tension – an immersive watch. Dec 20, 2023 Full Review Adam Sweeting The Arts Desk Kin succeeds because of the way it knits character and action together so seamlessly within its carefully drawn and defined locations. Rated: 5/5 Dec 5, 2023 Full Review Ed Power Irish Times The hope must be that this is merely a wobble - and that part eight delivers on the potential the show has demonstrated through the season. Oct 29, 2021 Full Review Dustin Rowles Pajiba Kin is not a slick, expensive production - it won't be confused for a Scorsese flick - but it features a number of powerful performances... that make it much better than the sum of its parts. Alan B Yeah...roll on season 3...hard hitting , realistic, strong characters all through this..powerful story telling that dipicts the hard inner belly of Ireland's gangsters...never slows down or loses interest..if you like this you will love Love/Hate..Great stuff..Highly recomended Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/18/24 Full Review Ittay1 S Noir touch, slow pace, longer dialogs, mindful-looking characters, and even frequent emotional language - try to cover up for a very ordinary gang plot, placated emotions and psychological shallowness, to mention one of several non-realistic premises in the plot. This entire drama is based on a bunch of characters frequently flipping between being wise, potent, experienced, and sensitive, and being totally stupid and catastrophically destructive to their very causes. Totally ignores the question how (and if) these absolute extremes can realistically exist together and flip, in so many people, so many times. If you just want to enjoy a reasonable watch, and experience a continuous sympathize-despise roller coaster - it's OK. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 12/17/24 Full Review GT M Absolutely brilliant, one of the best I’ve seen up there with Peekys, the acting throughout is superb and the storyline is gripping, season 2 just as good hope there is a season 3! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/08/24 Full Review Resk A This show leans deeply into in Irish, British, and Australian perspectives, and I’d bet much of the criticism comes from American audiences who can’t relate or comprehend to the character dynamics. It features the familiar elements of a crime drama, yet delivers them exceptionally. The series is deeply character-driven, with standout acting, sharp dialogue, and nuanced interactions that will have you on the edge of your seat, hanging on every word when things get real. The action sequences are seamlessly incorporated, as one critic noted. Even as someone who doesn’t enjoy drama, I found this a fantastic watch. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/25/24 Full Review D J Just awful. Unless of course you enjoy hearing a four letter word every two seconds. All of the characters are awful and I could not care less about any of them. The father, Brendan is particularly repulsive. In summary, pointless , dreadful, depressing and illiterate. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 09/14/24 Full Review Peter P Best series I have seen, could not stop watching it, brilliantly written, acting superb, a must watch for me Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/04/24 Full Review Read all reviews
