Melanie McFarland Salon.com She's so casually chic and gosh darned nice that the mediocrity of "Magnolia Table" is beside the point. Every episode conveys the message to relax, toss something together that tastes good and everything will be OK. Jan 8, 2021 Full Review Megan Reynolds The Muse/Jezebel Relatability through failure is the oldest trick in the book. I get the sense that it's difficult for Joanna Gaines to admit failure publicly; watching her let her guard down for a moment was enough to endear me to her private struggle. Tazzy A I have been watching all of Joanna and Chip's shows since the very beginning HGTV days. I loved all the ideas that I used to get and watching them with their family and all the cute little things. However...and until.... They started their own channel which at the time, and even now, you need to pay to watch. That's when I stopped watching. I was and am frustrated that it became more about the 'big money' than reaching and sharing with as many viewers as possible. Fast forward to her At Home cooking show available on Food Network. I love the comedic relief that Chip provides when he occasionally is on. Other than that, I find it hard to keep up. The flow of the show is a bit chaotic. And the biggest frustration is that her recipes are not easily/available on the site like all the other Food Network shows on Sundays. It makes me sad that it seems as though it has become a cash only opportunity show. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/21/24 Full Review Dolly M Joanna is the most pretentious cooking host. She makes it relatable, yet you can see how she wants to show she is a lot better than everyone else. I know it is cool sometimes to eat with mouth full of food but her doing that seems so acted. Soooo pretentious! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/24 Full Review Margi G I absolutely love this show. It's nice to see a more lighthearted side of her. I've tried so many of her recipes, have all of her cookbooks and they've all been a great. Haters gonna hate, but not me. In a world of negativity, she's authentic, funny, and kind. And this sad broken world needs more of this. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/10/23 Full Review Audience Member I was so disappointed when Chip and Joanna left HGTV I was addicted to their Fixer Upper show; they really made that whole theme popular that set off an endless stream of great shows to follow. They just have such charisma together, it's like a 2 for 1 experience. I was always waiting for the next stupid thing Chip would do and Joanna was always the straight man of the two. When they created the Magnolia Network, I initially wasn't that thrilled with it even watching one of Joanna's cooking show I wasn't åll that impressed. Then one evening I began watching her cooking show one after another and realized just how much I was enjoying it without really realizing it. I began to pay closer attention to how natural and just pleasing to listen too she was like she was in your home talking right to you and just so casually listing the precise ingredients from memory while focused on what she is doing, but at ease like you are truely watching her in her own kitchen at home and I think that is genuinely her. The food she prepares for you is outstanding to watch her prepare and the end results. The special element is how it's all about her family with the kids helping, to stories of her Uncle and who doesn't like this or that is very cool. Not to leave out Chip from his cameo appearances doing an egg cracking contest to washing his hands in the bar of cream cheese. I'm hooked now. I can't wait to try some of her unique receipts too. They all made my mouth water! She truely is a good chef! She has the Pioneer Lady beat 'all to heck"! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member I love her cooking show. She is so real mistakes and all! I dnt care if she's monotone or goes slow for a person like me who likes regular recipes with real ingredients that doesn't cost a lot…sign me up! I love her biscuit recipes; I'm trying thm for a Mother's Day brunch with my sisters! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Audience Member Unwatchable. She is so deadpan that I think watching a mortician would be more entertaining..... Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/09/23 Full Review Read all reviews
