Audience Member Newbie Ultraman fan here, this anime is something else. The CGI animation can be overlooked to a certain degree with the amazing story telling. This kind of superhero storytelling is something Marvel&DC have been missing the mark on. Overall an amazing anime that has convinced me to purchase the Manga. I love these littie easter egg nuggets ....such as The USS Enterprise dryly sat in several scenes , undoubtedly as a tribute to George Takei from Star Trek .. If you ever wondered who that guy was who translated Japanese into English and sounded almost too American in those classic Japanese monster films, that was a very young George , well before he was trained as a Helmsman . I believe he was still in school for some of that . But this is just one example of the subtle humor, the shots at politics, power , the balance of power and all these subjects that were handled with humor . I appreciate well written films in these times of formulas , big production and safe, lack of originality in execution.
