Schoemanskloof, Highlands Meander
Schoemanskloof is a somewhat undiscovered location, tucked away in Mpumalanga, South Africa.
This is the ideal location to unwind, de-stress and relax in perfect tranquility and delightful hospitality. Guided tours of the crocodile farm in the Schoemanskloof is one of the attractions and a popular one with the children who are always fascinated by these dangerous creatures. At the Montrose Falls in Schoemanskloof, the Crocodile River cascades 12m into a series of rock pools.
Schoemanskloof is also the starting point of the annual Lowveld Crocodile Canoe Marathon, held in February which brings a flurry of visitors to the area to take part in and support the race. Many of the other activities are those that bring you closer to nature and the reason why most visitors come here: to be at peace and quiet. You can do bird watching, or enjoy the raw nature found on one of the many hiking trips in the area.
