About Wingate Park Country Club

Located on the south eastern edge of Pretoria the Wingate Park Golf Course is a well-established golf course with a history dating back to 1947. The club is named after Burmese Brigadier Orde-Wingate who gained fame for his Chindit Campaign.

Wingate is an excellent golf course and testament to this was its top 20, in South Africa, rating. The club comes with some fairly spectacular scenery too, especially in the wet summer months when lush green abounds. Ancient trees line the fairways, flowering shrubs pop up wherever the eye wanders and a variety of birdlife have made Wingate their home.

The course is a great test of golf and has hosted numerous tournaments over the years including the 1993 South African Masters. Wingate is an eighteen hole championship parklands course that measures 6514m in length with a separate tee option for ladies.

Visitors are welcome every week day and gain access to the wealth of facilities at a modest price. But it is recommended that you book your accommodation in Pretoria and your tee-off ahead to avoid disappointment. Facilities here include but aren't limited to the a chipping green; driving range; golf carts; a halfway house; locker rooms and a putting green.
