Brewhogs in Kyalami, Johannesburg (original) (raw)

About Brewhogs

Brewhogs refurbished a showpiece brewery that had become derelict in 2013 and have, since then, been producing world-class beers for locals and visitors to Gauteng. They are based in Kyalami, Midrand, Johannesburg.

Their goal is to create a range of beers that beer-lovers will want to keep enjoying, beer after beer. They have dubbed this repeat drinkability. This has been made possible in the refurbished, revamped brewery that has modern equipment and top-notch pros in charge of the brewing process. Touring the brewery and chatting with the brew master means getting insights into the secret behind making beers that stand out from the rest.

The beers produced at Brewhogs are not pasteurised, have no preservatives, and are naturally filtered. They include:

Premium Pilsner (ABV 4%)
Crisp, clean and easy to sip on; this has soft malty flavours that are coupled with a distinct, but balanced, bitterness.

Original Red Lager (ABV 4.5%)
Made using five different malts, this beer has clear floral and fruit flavours, with toasted malt undertones. It is medium-bodied and fantastic for a hot day.

Black IPL (ABV 5%)
Expect dark caramel and toffee flavours from this complex, delicious beer. This is ideal for those who know and love dark beers.

India Pale Ale (ABV 5%)
Lightly hopped and medium-bodied, this IPL has subtle caramel flavours and a citrusy nose.

Lite Lager (ABV 2.5%)
Crisp and light, this lager is low in both calories and alcohol. It is a little malty, a little bitter, and totally repeatdrinkable.

The team behind the Brewhogs beers are dedicated to creating beers that celebrate local and imported ingredients, innovative flavours and, above all, an unwavering love for beer.
