About Old Boksburg Post Office
Old Boksburg post office, on Market Street in Boksburg, Johannesburg, took nearly seven years to be constructed after its design was created by Sytze Wierda in 1898.
In 1899 the postmasters building had been built and was used as the local post office until the main building was completed, which was only in 1905.
Sadly the post office building was only in use for 60 years before they decide to shut the doors for good. The building was declared a national monument in 1996.
