Piza Vino in Morningside, Johannesburg (original) (raw)

About Piza  Vino

Piza e Vino has proven itself to be a keeper in the hearts of local residents, thanks to a bustling atmosphere, an Italian menu and some of the most creative pizzas weve ever seen! The outdoor deck includes a micro brewery offering Whale Tale Ale and Black River Coffee Stout, amongst others, and lends itself to a light-hearted ambiance with alfresco dining.

The Antipasti menu includes such Italian delights as Spicy Napolitana meatballs, Spicy Chipirones (squid heads) and a selection of Crostini. Parents will be please with their small yet impressive kiddies menu, with doesnt have a fish finger in sight! The Pizza menu groans with possibility, and youll be hard-pressed to decide on your favourite. We love the inventiveness of the Krazy Nut pizza, which has almonds, pinenuts, basil pesto and gorzola topping;

The Prawn Star is a delightful mix of prawn, pistachio and rocket; Beef Boy rocks your socks off with rump steak slivers, caramelised onion and rocket; James Brown takes centre stage with grilled chicken, bacon, guacamole, cheddar and red onions and well fell head over heels for the Carpaccio dAmore, with its beef carpaccio and fresh strawberry topping. The pasta menu is petite but delivers, with Oxtail Ragu, Meatballs and a fresh salmon pasta, served in a light wine, horseradish and cream sauce with wild rocket.

Washed down with craft beer, we think Piza e Vino has definitely got that certain something something that attracts a loyal following. And with a great salad selection and the option of gluten free pizza bases, you can enjoy a meal with a little less guilt and a whole lot of flavour.
