About Rainbow Gorge Trail

The Rainbow Gorge Trail is another hike that showcases the Drakensberg Mountain Range and Cathedral Peak. The beauty of this area is unrivalled, and those that have visited it almost always fall in love.

This is known as one of the most beautiful trails on Cathedral Peak, as it boasts stunning views and magnificent vegetation.

The hike starts off quite easily and advances to being moderate. Therefore, it is not recommended for children or the elderly.

It takes about two hours to complete the entire 5.5 kilometres of the trail, which starts at the site of the Didima Camp. It then takes hikers along the foot of the Tryme Hill and through the yellowwood forest to the Ndumeni River Gorge. As the trail begins to ascend, the gorge narrows and a spectacular display of rainbows awaits.
