Altydgedacht falls within one of the coolest wine-growing regions the country in the hills of the Tygerberg Valley. It boasts a legacy of Parker family wine making since 1852 and happens to be one of the oldest functioning wine cellars in South Africa. It�s just a few kilometers from Tygervalley shopping centre and 15 km from the Atlantic Ocean which moderates the climate with winds blowing over from the coast. 1981 saw the first production of Atydgedacht�s red wines and the white wines arrived in 1985.

The rustic tasting room and restaurant add to this small farm�s charm. Sample some of the old and experience the latest cultivars to be introduced such as Pinotage. Viognier and Cabernet Franc as well as the Tintoretto, whose 2009 vintage won the Top Red Blend award at Novare SA Terroir Awards and the Winemaker�s Choice Diamond Award. You can enjoy a picnic beneath the farm�s trees on selected Sundays between 12h00 and 17h00 whilst the kids enjoy pony rides and making cupcakes. Sample platters, savour wines over a candlelit dinner or celebrate an occasion in the 300 year old barrel room.
