About Rooi Els Beach

5km from Pringle Bay next to Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve, Rooi Els Beach is a popular beach with holiday makers, it is relatively secluded and sheltered which makes it a popular swimming spot.

Swimming is even made easy for your little ones down at the south end of the beach thanks to the Rooi Els river that flows into the bay. This creates very shallow water that is great for kids to splash around in.

Winter is also a lovely time to visit the wind creates big pumping waves which are a joy to watch from the safety of the beach. If you have a shell-fishing permit you might enjoy collecting some mussels for your dinner, but remember you can only do this if you have a permit. This is a great holiday destination!
