African Safari Lodge is a 4 star graded property offering Grahamstown accommodation for tourists and visitors of Frontier Country.

African Safari Lodge is situated on a private game reserve 17km outside of Grahamstown. The lodge is perched 20 meters above the high water mark on the Settlers dam with breath-taking views up river. Animal and bird sightings along the river banks are a guaranteed occurrence from the spacious viewing porches. The Lodge borders the Thomas Baines Nature Reserve, situated in the main water catchment area of Grahamstown at the confluence of two rivers � the dominant Kariega River flowing 40km further to meet the Indian Ocean at Kenton-on-Sea.

Self-catering Accommodation

Book the African Safari Lodge as an entire unit on a full board basis or you can book the three rooms (Impala, Nyala and Kudu) individually on a B&B basis.

The lodge has a spacious patio with braai (barbeque) area one overlooks the river where one can view zebra, buffalo and antelope, among many others animals and birdlife.

There are also two beautiful river units overlooking the Kariega River has been added to the Private Game Reserve. Each unit has a fully equipped kitchen with en-suite bathroom, shower and bath, DStv, private patio with braai facilities with stunning views over the river.

Location

Perfectly balanced, African Safari Lodge is a nature lover's paradise with dense ravine thickets, scattered thorn trees and open areas making this an idyllic outdoor experience.

The African Safari Lodge philosophy is driven by making quality and lasting friendships, bringing guests closer to nature and ensuring that they experience enduring memories. The lodge can be booked in its entirety or per person depending on the need.

There is a 4,5km gravel road leading to the lodge It could be a slight challenge for sports cars with low profile tyres. If guests cross the speedbumps at an angle and stick to the speed-limit it should alleviate most of the concerns. Road maintenance is done on a regular basis.
