Apple Blossom Cottage is a property for self catering in Dullstroom for up to 10 guests visiting the Highlands Meander region.

This quaint 80-year-old fully equipped Cottage with serious character, is only 9 km from Dullstroom en-route to Highland Gate (6 km away). Nestled in an old-old orchard with various fruit trees � including figs, cherries, apples, apricots pears, grapes and more� free for you to eat when in season.

Ideal for quality time getaways with family & friends OR remote workers looking for a stress-free, outdoor environment and fast satellite Wi-Fi. Except for some wildlife visitors (such as deer, impala, otters and Egyptian geese) you have exclusive access to the whole farm when booking. If you like the outdoors-this is the place for you!

Self Catering Accommodation

The Apple Blossom Cottage is a self catering cottage with four bedrooms and three bathrooms. Two rooms are furnished with a King-size bed that can be split into twin beds and have en-suite bathrooms fitted with a shower, toilet and basin. There are another two rooms fitted with twin or king-size beds and share a bathroom fitted with a bath, toilet and basin.

There is an extra outside annexe with one basic bur clean bedroom en-suite (shower) that can accommodate an overflow of 2 guests, should your needs exceed our normal capacity of 8 guests.

The kitchen has a large 8-seater kitchen/dining table, offering easy living and entertainment. The kitchen is well-equipped with a gas stove/electric-oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, French-press coffee plungers, ample cooking and eating utensils and everything you require for a lekker braai.

The warm open plan living area with a coal stove in the kitchen and a large open fireplace in the lounge that complement the cosy country interior. The living area include comfortable couches and a cosy-nook for either working remotely or serious family card game nights.

The lounge opens onto a large stoep and a braai area among the apple trees.

The cottage is serviced daily from 09h00 to 13h00. Basic laundry services available through Paulina on request for longer stays (@ additional cost).

Activities

This one-storey cottage has something for everyone. Start your day early with a coffee on the stoep followed by a fly-fishing session at any of the farm�s two trout dams. Or breathe in the fresh mountain air while enjoying a scenic trail run in the area. Cyclists can enjoy a ride among the hills with a coffee and breakfast stop halfway in town. The farm also offers a hiking trail for afternoon walks and a lovely spot on the easily accessible hilltop for a sundowner while enjoying a 270� view of the valley below.

On the farm:
Hiking, trail running, road running, cycling: There are trails on the farm and in the area to explore. Perfect for high-altitude training.Picnic at the top of the koppie on the farm. Picnic basket & blanket available. Board games, playing cards, puzzles and a dart board with darts available and there is a hammock.

Fishing:
Catch rainbow trout @ R110 per kg. The cottage has a scale for weighing. Snap scan payment available. PLEASE: ONLY �catch and release� on the brown trout. The 2 well stocked dams only conveniently situated only 50 - 100m from the cottage. Dams are smallish but deep with crystal clear mountain Springwater that can make fishing challenging when kids or other loved ones move and play around nearby. Remember the clever fish are also watching your intentions closely.

Local knowledge: We do not feed our fish. There is ample food for them in and out the water.
TIP: Remember to observe closely what the fish are feeding on and try to imitate that in your choice of fly. This might just land you the right one. Bring your own fishing rod or you can hire a fishing rod from The Mavungana Flyfishing shop in town, they have all the fly fishing equipment and flies you need.
