Hayward's Safari House is a property for self catering in Boekenhoutskloof for up to 10 guests visiting the Northern Gauteng region.

Elegantly decorated in a minimalist safari style, Hayward's Safari House offers an idyllic weekend escape for those seeking serenity amid stunning bushveld surroundings. This house serves as guest accommodation for the renowned Hayward's Grand Safari Company, which operates its expeditions from this location into the hinterland.

Self-Catering Accommodation

Safari House features three bedrooms and two bathrooms with showers. The master bedroom includes a double bed and an en-suite bathroom with a spa bath. The second and third bedrooms also contain double beds and share a bathroom equipped with a shower.

The house also includes an East African reading room, a Persian lounge, and an upstairs dining area with a well-equipped kitchen. The dining area seats six, and the kitchen is outfitted with a stove, oven, fridge-freezer, crockery, and cutlery. A mobile safari porta-pool is available during summer months. Towels and luxury amenities are provided.

The villa is fully serviced daily. Guests receive two packets of wood and one packet of ice each day. Upon arrival, condiments, milk, tea, coffee, and sugar are supplied.

Location

Situated within the 1500-hectare private game reserve of Bobbejaansberg, the area is celebrated for its abundant birdlife, boasting over 350 species. The reserve is safe for unguided walks as it is free from dangerous game such as hippos, buffalo, lions, and elephants.

Activities and Attractions

Guests can arrange horse trails through the reserve to encounter giraffes, elands, kudus, wildebeests, and various small game. Other activities include hot air balloon flights, walking with lions, golfing at the nearby Pebble Rock Estate, bass fishing, clay pigeon shooting, photography sessions, field guide training for kids, and mountain biking (bring your own gear).

Other attractions in the area include visiting the renowned Cullinan Diamond Mine for tours and luncheons, tree-top canopy trails, and tours to meet local N'debele potters and crafters.
