Activities

The bird lover will be kept very busy as the surrounding garden is mostly indigenous fynbos and attracts a large number of birds. The nearby dams also provide some excellent bird watching. Bass fishing can be done in the upper dam (bring your own rods) or take the kayak for a spin.

Hiking on the farm is very safe and for the more adventurous, the Witels hiking trail starts on the farm. Access to the UCT Mountain and Ski Club runs over our farm, so if you are fit enough for the hike up the mountain, bring your snow board along! (pre arranged permits from UCT are required).

Silkbush is also the home of the annual Brerivier Mountain Bike Challenge and mountain bikers can bring their bikes and enjoy riding parts of this trail.
