KwaThabisile Game Lodge is a guest house with self catering option, providing accommodation in Leeuwkloof Valley for anyone visiting the Northern Gauteng region.

KwaThabisile Game Lodge is situated in the Leeuwkloof Valley Conservancy, a 400-hectare game reserve within 1 hour from Johannesburg and 30 minutes from Pretoria, and offers self-catering accommodation in fully equipped units. In the heart of Gauteng, Dinokeng �a place of rivers', and Leeuwkloof valley, is a game lodge surrounded by wildlife roaming in a 400 hectare game reserve.

SELF CATERING ACCOMMODATION

The accommodation is ideal for couples, groups of friends and families.

Antelope:
This is a self-catering unit, which has 2 bedrooms each with en-suite bathrooms accommodating 4-6 people (single or couples). It has an open plan lounge, dinning area and kitchenette. The large sliding doors where you step out onto the veranda with sunset views overlooking the Valley. The Antelope unit has inter-leading doors with the Bushbaby unit allowing for larger groups.

Bushbaby:
This is a self-catering unit, which has 2 bedrooms each with en-suite bathrooms accommodating 4-6 people (single or couples). It has an open plan lounge, dinning area and kitchenette. The large sliding doors where you step out onto the veranda with sunset views overlooking the Valley, Boma and swimming pool. The Bushbaby unit has inter-leading doors with the Antelope unit allowing for larger groups.

Chameleon:
This is a self-catering unit, which has 2 bedrooms with one bathroom sharing, accommodating 4-5 people (single or couples). It has an open plan lounge, dinning area and kitchenette. This leads to the veranda with sunset views overlooking the Valley as well as the Big Monkey Thorn tree centered in the garden of the lodge. The Chameleon unit is semi-attached but has an independent entrance to the Antelope and Bushbaby unit.

Duiker:
This is a self-catering unit, which has a separate kitchenette and bathroom. It has an open plan bedroom (2 double beds), lounge, dinning area which can accommodate 2 people being ideal for couples or up to 10 people comfortably depending on the configuration of the group. There are large glass doors where you step out onto the veranda, having its own braai area, with sunset views overlooking the Valley and to the swimming pool.

Eland:
This is a self-catering unit, which has an open plan kitchenette, lounge and dinning area. There are 2 bedrooms and one bathroom sharing upstairs which can accommodate 4-7 people depending on the configuration of the group. There are large glass doors where you step out onto the veranda and boma, with sunset views overlooking the Valley, bush and to the swimming pool.

Flycatcher:
This is a self-catering unit, which has an open plan kitchenette, lounge and dinning area. There are 2 bedrooms and one bathroom sharing upstairs which can accommodate 4-7 people depending on the configuration of the group. There are large glass doors where you step out onto the veranda and boma, with sunset views overlooking the Valley, bush and to the swimming pool.

Giraffe
This is a self-catering unit, which has a separate bathroom. It has an open plan bedroom, lounge, kitchenette and dinning area, which can accommodate 2 people being ideal for couples or up to 4 people comfortably depending on the configuration of the group. There are glass doors where you step out onto the veranda, having its own braai area, with a view of the large Monkey Thorn tree centered in the garden and to the swimming pool.

Note

All units are equipped with fully equipped kitchenettes, fans, hot water bottles (in winter), bath towel, hand towel, torch, paraffin lamps, matches, fire wood (fire wood needs to be paid before you leave). Hairdryer, iron and board, laundry, binoculars, books of interest and board games are available on request.

Communal area

Swimming pool, deck chairs and umbrellas with fabulous sunset views overlooking the valley and into the bush. Versatile function room with DSTV, games (ping-pong table, trampoline, mini-snooker table), and mini-library. There are also two bomas', both ideal for evening get-togethers around the fire.

Pets

Pets are welcome. owners to clean up after their pets. We have two dogs of our own, Max (Boerbul, M) & Bibi (long-wire-haired terrier, F), who love making new friends. Dogs are not allowed in the swimming pool.

ACTIVITIES ON SITE

On-Site:
Walking and hiking trails, viewing game, bird watching, fishing, and identifying trees, shrubs and insects. Our game includes over 240 grazers including kudu, zebra, blesbuck, impala, wildebeest, eland, waterbuck, duiker, and steenbok. Also warthog, porcupine, jackals, caracal, mongoose, vervet monkeys, bushbaby, baboon, reptiles, snakes, frogs, and tortoises. One can also see 200 species of birds sighted in our area.
