Laughing Waters Farm is a guest house with self catering option, providing accommodation in Stanford for anyone visiting the Cape Overberg region.

Laughing Waters Farm is a tranquil working farm in the Sondagskloof, inviting visitors to enjoy characterful accommodation and to experience unique outdoor activities, workshops and farm fresh produce. This is a beautiful fynbos farm perfectly nestled in the heart of the Overberg. Blue cranes, porcupines, bat-eared foxes and whales are our close neighbours.

The farm is a 2hr drive from Cape Town, 46km from Hermanus and 23km from Stanford. Enjoy all that a country life has to offer from star-gazing, nature hikes, mountain biking and swimming in a private dam to interacting with our gentle herds of animals.

Self Catering Accommodation

Laughing Waters Farm has a selection of characterful self catering cottages situated in the natural beauty of a peaceful working fynbos farm in the Sandies Glen. The cottages are surrounded by wonderful mountain views and a river running through it.

All of the cottages contain a well equipped kitchen with either a gas plate or a stove / oven. All cottages have a patio area and braai facilities. Linen, towels, and soaps are provided as well as tea, coffee, and rusks. Firewood is provided.

Please note that two of the cottages interconnected. They have their own private garden and enjoyment areas. Our guests are very respectful of the peace of the farm. More information and photos of the individual cottages can be seen below.

Dining

Farm fresh breakfasts, gourmet braais and picnics are available with advance request.

Pets

Well behaved pets are welcome with prior arrangement. Pet owners are responsible for cleaning up after their animals.

Farm Activities

With around 230 endemic bird species in the area, even the untrained eye will quickly spot one of our feathery residents. Discover the mountain trails and the area's beauty (and challenges) by bike. Explore the fynbos landscapes of the farm and its surroundings at your own pace along beautiful hiking trails.

Enjoy a revitalising swim in our secluded spring-fed dam, surrounded by the peace and tranquility of nature. Enjoy a day out with your horse. Bring your horse, have it pastured and explore the area together. Come and enjoy the whole cheese-making process from milking the goats to learning the methods for creating a variety of cheeses.
