Accommodation

The 3 star rated Country House, built in 1908, offers four spacious en-suite bedrooms, and is layered with a collection of historical images, documents, and furniture dating back to the 1800s. Savour a quiet moment in the dim stillness of the 19th-century stone chapel. Enjoy high tea in the shade of the verandah or a cold drink by the tranquil swimming pool. Sit late into the night in the convivial stone-walled cellar bar. This wonderful homestead has been in the Fowlds family for five generations, and the family takes great pleasure in sharing its remarkable Southern African family heritage with you.

Leeuwenbosch has an interesting history from the days of the early settlers. William Folds who was originally from Keighley in Yorkshire travelled to Africa by boat and into the interior by ox wagon with his young wife Sarah Green in 1857.

Arriving in the Addo area he found employment as a wagon builder. Their eldest son bought Leeuwenbosch farm in 1873 and it has been handed down through the generations of the Folds family ever since - the fifth generation are currently residing there and host you as their guests in the two lodges.
