What to expect at the lodge/reserve

Muweti is a small, intimate lodge accommodating a maximum of four guests in the tented accommodation and four guests in the cottage. The positioning of the tented chalets gives a truly unusual sense of fusion with the bush, and an opportunity to sleep in close proximity to the wilds of Africa. In addition to the tented chalet accommodation, there is a self catering cottage which gives you an opportunity to do your own thing on a self catering basis.

Dinner, Bed and Breakfast Accommodation

Tented Chalets:
The tented chalets are thatched with canvas sides and wooden flooring. Each chalet has a king-sized four poster bed with full en suite bath and shower. There is a portable aircon in the chalet and the bed is enclosed in mosquito netting. A powerful fan assists on the warmer days.

There is a private deck, with comfortable chairs and table. A kettle, tea and coffee are provided in the chalet. Although the chalets are privately situated and close to the bush, they are accessed from the lodge and so from lodge to the chalets is safe walking territory. The rate includes dinner, bed and full breakfast, as well as a light lunch if necessary. All teas and coffees are provided on request and included in the rate. Drinks are not included in the rate.

Two game drives per day are included in the daily rate and should something crop up that needs a 'mini' drive, this will be done as part of the package. Should you confirm a booking kindly advise us of any dietary requirements (eg vegetarian) or food allergies.

Self Catering Accommodation

Cottage:
The self catering cottage which is a standard brick building, has a main bedroom with a queen-sized four poster bed, with en suite shower and aircon. The second bedroom has two single beds with en suite shower.

There is a small sitting room / lounge with full premium DStv, plus DVD player with a few DVDs. The kitchen is fully equipped with cooker, microwave, fridge and pots and pans, cutlery and crockery.

There is a covered porch with a small outside conversational fire place, as well as a portable braai unit. The wood provided is enough for a braai and a quiet sitting fire. It is not meant to allow for an all-night bonfire due to environmental concerns. Should extra wood be required this can be provided at a nominal charge.

The cottage is serviced daily at around 10h00 or 11h00. There is covered parking and the cottage garden is fenced. The cottage is about 150m from the main lodge and is not part of the main lodge complex. Facilities at the main lodge are normally available to cottage guests by prior arrangement. Children under 14 are not allowed in the main lodge area.

Should you wish to book a game drive with us, please contact us either before your stay or during and we will gladly arrange these at a small charge.
