Self Catering Accommodation

Pitlochrie The Farm House is fully equipped for self catering. Linen and towels are provided. This grand old house has great historical value in the story it tells of the wool-boom years.

Step back in time; enjoy the expansive rooms and the beautiful garden setting with red oaks, silver birches and a copper beech. It sleeps ten people and is perfect for groups of friends and families.

There are two double bedrooms, two twin rooms and one single room. One of the double rooms is on the ground floor and has an open fireplace, one of the twin rooms upstairs also has an open fireplace. The double room upstairs has its own veranda. Two of the bathrooms have a shower and the other a bath.

The kitchen is fully equipped and the lounge has an open fireplace. A limited amount of firewood is provided and more can be purchased. The house also has a dining room and sun room.

Outside is an expansive veranda and braai facilities. The Farm House has access to free Wi-Fi, a pool table, dart board, a clay tennis court, badminton, boulle, river / rock pools and picnic spots. Optional daily housekeeping is available.

The Area

The area is world renowned for Rock Art, Skyrun, 8 Mountain Passes, Fly Fishing and Wilderness Eco-experience. On arrival at Pitlochrie you will be given a bird list � over 220 species recorded � and a map showing our various hiking trails, some of which can be mountain biked (own equipment necessary). Bring your tennis racquets and balls for some clay court fun and your cozzie for the best river/rock pool swimming. Pack a picnic for the beautiful picnic spots and lazy day experiences. Take a drive into Barkly East and have delicious pizza at the community run �The Cornerstone Coffee and Pizza Shop', meander into the historic village of Rhodes, or book a lunch at Tiffindell Ski who welcome day visitors. We follow eco-farming practices to conserve the natural environment and the many species of wild plants and animals which you will encounter in this mountain landscape.
