Rivergate Gatehouse Cottage is a property for self catering in Stanford for up to 6 guests visiting the Cape Overberg region.

Gatehouse Cottage is located on Rivergate Guest Farm, a working farm on the banks of the Klein River, just 2,3km from Stanford. The farm offers Stanford accommodation in cottages situated in and around landscaped gardens and are in close proximity to farm animals including alpacas, chickens and miniature donkeys.

Self Catering Accommodation

Gatehouse Cottage is a spacious double-story cottage with three en-suite bedrooms. The rooms are made up of a queen bedroom and two bedrooms with king or single beds, ensuring comfort for all configurations of families and friends.

In the winter months, relax in the spacious living area around the fireplace and prepare delicious meals in the well-equipped kitchen. Keen cooks will also enjoy the use of the built-in braai.

Unwind in the wood-fired hot tub as you take in the stunning views of the Kleinriver Mountains.

This cottage combines down-to-earth comfort with understated luxury, offering an unforgettable stay.

On Site Facilities

Within the landscaped gardens there is vegetable garden which supplies the Eatery, the various meal baskets we offer as well as a farm shop/deli. The Eatery is open on Fridays and Saturdays for lunch. The food baskets and charcuterie boards are available on request to be enjoyed on the farm and while relaxing at your cottage.

Guests have access to the river for fishing, swimming, canoeing or SUPing.

Overlooked by a majestic mountain range, hugged by the Klein Rivier running through it, and just 15 minutes from the ocean, Stanford is a charming and a hidden gem in the Overberg. The heart of the village boasts an original market square, a village green and a miscellany of shops and places to eat.

Quaint Victorian houses dot the tree-lined streets where villagers have time to stop for a friendly chat or a cup of coffee and a delicious piece of cake just freshly baked at one of the local eateries.
