Rockhaven Erica Cottage is a property for self catering in Porterville for up to 4 guests visiting the Swartland region.

Rockhaven Erica Cottage is located on Rockhaven Farm which is a two hour drive from Cape Town and is a working farm above the town of Porterville. Unlike a number of surrounding getaways, Rockhaven has the unfair advantage of being nestled among the spectacular Groot Winterhoek Mountains.

Self Catering Accommodation

Rockhaven Erica Cottage sleeps four guests in two bedrooms, one with a Queen-size bed and the other with two single beds, also with comfortable three quarter mattresses. It has a shower (no bath) and an inside fireplace. The kitchen is fully equipped (including a microwave), but there is no oven. There is an outside braai area and a large covered stoep.

Linen and towels are provided. We provide a bath towel per guest, please bring your own swimming towels. Please don't use our bath towels outside of the cottages.

Stofelina makes delicious farm bread and rusks, but she needs to be contacted before you arrive to let her know if you wish to order. Stofelina se Winkel is always open with fresh eggs, milk and other goodies if you run out. Firewood is also available for sale but not firelighters. We sell all our produce from the farm.

Pets

A maximum of one dog is allowed in Erica Cottage. Please be advised however that Rockhaven is a working farm and there are both wild animals and livestock on the farm. If your dog has difficulty controlling itself around other animals, Rockhaven may not be the place for him / her.

The Area

The surrounding Jupiter landscape has plenty of walks, nooks and crannies to explore, orchards to lose yourself in, rivers to dip in and out of, buck to spot and enough snow every second winter or so to build a snowman. Sit on the stoep and watch the sun set slowly on the Citrusdal Valley, take a stroll to the farm dam and enjoy a dip in its crystal clear waters, walk further along to the rock pools and waterfalls of the Ratel River, or simply lie back on the lawn and soak up the rays.

The Cape Nature Wilderness area is close by as well and is famous for its floral beauty and places such as De Hel and De Tronk. Permits to enter the reserve must be obtained from Cape Nature in Porterville in advance.
