Area info
Britannia Bay offers acres of unspoilt, safe beaches. The bay is very protected and the water is slightly warmer than most places on the West Coast, due to the Benguela current not entering the bay. The bay teems with Southern Right and Humpback whales for up to ten months of the year which are always a delight to watch as are the scores of resident dolphins. Attractions include the Cape Columbine Lighthouse, Stompneusbaai Beach, the Cape Gallery, the Paternoster Art Route and kayaking in Paternoster.
