SomerZicht B&B and Self Catering is a 4 star graded B&B with self catering option, offering Somerset West accommodation for tourists and visitors of Cape Town.

A tranquil haven in the heart of the Cape Winelands, SomerZicht is an ideal destination for the discerning guest who appreciates privacy, style, comfort and unsurpassed hospitality. We offer three luxury en-suite B&B rooms as well as two fully equipped self catering suites.

SomerZicht is located in a very quiet and established suburb of Somerset West with magnificent views of the impressive Hottentots Holland and Helderberg Mountains. SomerZicht is protected from the prevailing Cape summer winds and caters for individual travellers and small groups. We endeavour to provide the best possible service at affordable rates.

Owners, Albert and Hennielene Botha relocated to Somerset West after spending 24 years in the hospitality industry in the Northern part of South Africa. Passionate about providing our guests with a memorable experience, we look forward to welcome you. We reside on the property and will be delighted to assist you with any information or arrangements you may require.

Bed & Breakfast Accommodation

The B&B rooms are spacious and stylishly decorated to create a relaxing ambiance. All have a private outdoor area which allows our guests to fully enjoy the wonderful weather and balmy evenings. Guests are welcome to use the communal lounge and patio with spectacular views or laze around the sparkling pool. Free WiFi is available in all rooms and throughout the house. All rooms are equipped with satellite television, personal safe and hair dryer. We offer safe and secure parking.

Pond Room and Tree Room:
Situated at the front of the main house next to the garden pond, both have private entrances via a timber deck. Choose between a King-sized bed or Twin beds. Enjoy early morning coffee whilst listening to the soothing sound of the pond-waterfall or watch the squirrels cavort in the trees.

Garden Room:
Located at the back of the main house with a private garden terrace. Here you can enjoy magnificent sunsets whilst sipping a glass of wine. Entrance to this room is through the main house. The room is furnished with a Queen-sized bed.

Breakfast

A sumptuous breakfast is included in the rate for the B&B rooms.

Self Catering Suites

Suites are serviced twice per week. Personal laundry can be done at a small additional fee. Guests can also opt to enjoy breakfast in the main house at a nominal cost.

Facilities:
Kitchen with gas hob, convection / microwave oven, Fridge with freezer section, kettle and toaster as well as all kitchen utensils, cutlery and crockery.
Extra length beds with 100% cotton percale linen - choose between a King-sized bed or Twin beds
Private entrance

Pool Suite:
On the lower level near the pool with a private entrance. It has a sunny patio equipped with table and chairs as well as pool loungers. The suite has an open-plan lounge and kitchen area with a separate bedroom and en-suite bathroom. The bathroom is equipped with shower, basin and toilet. Guests are welcome to use the barbeque facility at the pool.

Terrace Suite:
Located on the upper level with its entrance via steps from the pool area. It features a private sun terrace with pool loungers as well as a large balcony with stunning views on the mountains and the swimming pool below. The balcony is furnished with patio table and chairs and has a Weber barbeque. The suite offers a large open-plan area with bedroom and lounge, a separate kitchen and a separate bathroom with shower, basin and toilet.

Attractions and Activities

SomerZicht is ideally located to use as base from which to explore the area. Within a few minutes you can sip wine at one of the famous vineyards, enjoy a gourmet meal, laze away on the beach or play a round of golf on one of the world-class courses in the area.

Explore the historic towns of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek or take a day trip to Cape Town to see iconic Table Mountain, Robben Island or Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. Visit Cape Point and explore the coast line. Hike the nature trails in the Helderberg Nature Reserve or cycle through the vineyards. The possibilities are endless.
