Self catering Accommodation

Thandanani Cottage is a self catering holiday cottage in Northern Drakensberg sleeping two guests. The cottage is open plan and the sleeping area is furnished with a Queen-size bed. The en-suite bathroom is fitted with a shower, toilet and basin.

There is a couch and a log fireplace in the sitting area. The semi self-contained kitchenette has a microwave, toaster, kettle and fridge. There is no stove.

Outside there is a patio with a table and chairs, braai facilities and lovely mountain views.

Dining

A bed and breakfast option is available alternatively half board is available, however, notice of the catered option is required in advance. All meals are delivered with a smile to your cottage, try this option and be surprised by our chefs style of country fare. This can be arranged after your accommodation booking has been confirmed.

Experience

Activities you can indulge in include hiking, horse riding, fishing, four-wheel drive routes, mountain bike trails, bird watching, river swim, tube, and canoe; paraglide and hang-glide take off site is available (equipment not supplied).

Experience a mountain atmosphere with breathtaking views, described as the "IMAX Views" of the Drakensberg. View the Tugela Falls, the second highest waterfall in the world.

An abundance of wildlife occurs, including various species of antelope such as the Drakensberg Eland, Mountain Reedbuck, Grey Rhebuck, Bush Buck as well as the Grey duiker. Other wild animals to look out for are Porcupine, Grey Mongoose, Gennet, Serval Cat, African Wild Cat, Lynx and the ever elusive Leopard. Bird life is also in abundance. Wildflowers are a sight to behold, the best time of the year to view flowers is from mid-October to March.

Miniature horses recently staked their claim on the property, much amusement can be experienced watching them as they run around with their tails in the air.
