Val du Charron Guest House is a 4 star graded guest house offering Wellington accommodation in 18 guest rooms.

Val du Charron Wine and Olive Estate, 4 Star Guesthouse and Spa is located on a working farm in the heart of the Bovlei Valley ten minutes from the town of Wellington and less than an hour's drive from Cape Town - the perfect accommodation spot in the heart of the Cape Winelands.

The original farm was proclaimed in 1699 and, as only the fifth family to hold title, the owners are conscious to maintain its historic integrity and re-establish the tradition of wine making on the farm itself. This can be evidenced in the rehabilitation of the historic buildings and the character of the architecture of the Estate.

Guest House Accommodation

The Guesthouse comprises luxurious suites each with stunning views of the vineyards, garden and the Hawekwa Mountains, where you can soak in the views while you enjoy a cold drink from the minibar or a gourmet coffee from the in-room drinks station.

If you are visiting us to unwind, tan by the pool in the glorious sunshine, read a book from the library or play a board game in the lounge if there are clouds in the sky. A treatment at the spa will melt your cares away.

Kids are welcome, our spacious family room is great for moms and dads and kids sharing. With a pool, jungle gym, splash pad and plenty of place to roam the kids will be entertained while you enjoy a fabulous meal at either of the Estate's two restaurants.

If you have chosen us to get the business done, our twenty seater conference room with projector, DStv, Wi-Fi, pause area and fire place to network by is a great space to conclude that deal.

Dining

Guests can enjoy a full farmer's breakfast in our restaurant. Look forward to savouring more local produce at Pizza Vista, one of our restaurants, such as craft beers and seasonal dishes with local fruit and vegetables in addition to familiar favourites.

The Grillroom is simply nirvana for carnivores: grain-fed and grass-fed beef, dry or wet aged, is all aged between 22 and 55 days plus there's steak tartare, oxtail, brisket, marrow bones, biltong and beef burgers too. Venison, pork and chicken feature prominently along with salmon, prawns and calamari, and there are also vegetarian options on the menu. Trawling the extensive menu could take a while, enjoy it with a glass of the Estate's award winning wines.

Activities

Val du Charron is about living the wine lifestyle, so our guests are invited to participate in all aspects of wine production - from harvesting to drinking it. Wine tasting and guided cellar and vineyard tours are available or explore the vineyards on foot or bike. For a completely novel wine tasting experience visit our Theatre of Wine.

We also offer guided walks between the valley's historic farms and, for the more adventurous, access to the famous Bainskloof mountain bike trails (home to the Cape Epic). The Wild Boar Trails start and finish at Val du Charron Wine & Leisure Estate (VDC), Wellington. There are six routes starting and finishing at Val du Charron (VDC), catering to single track lovers and those who prefer open gravel roads or just a ride around the vineyard block. Two other routes at different locations are also available

For those more interested in olives, enjoy a tour of the olive grove rounded off with an olive tasting at the gazebo on our dam. The dam is also a great place to fish for bass.

Or, enter our Spa through its ancient Egyptian doors, to our quiet oasis of tranquility overlooking the majestic Hawekwa Mountains. Our fully trained therapist is available to offer advice and answer any questions you may have on any of our treatments or products.
