Zulu Rock Lodge is a KwaZulu Natal game lodge providing a wildlife experience for anyone visiting Battlefields.

With one of the most breathtaking views in all of South Africa, Zulu Rock Lodge is a game lodge set high above the mountains on the Babanango Game Reserve and is the perfect getaway for couples looking for an intimate Safari experience. With its rocky hillside position and panoramic views of the African bushveld, Zulu Rock Lodge entwines comfort with a touch of African-inspired wilderness.

What to expect at the lodge/reserve

Accommodation

Zulu Rock Lodge offers guests accommodation in Babanago in stone-clad chalets overlooking the valley below. There are five luxury hilltop rooms, a romance suite with private heated pool and a family suite which has its own heated pool and fire pit.

Dining

All meals are included in the rates. Drinking water, basic teas and coffees are also included.

On Site Facilities

Zulu Rock Lodge has indoor and outdoor restaurant dining areas, together with relaxing lounge spaces. Guests can enjoy the African-styled bar, wine cellar, gift shop and pool deck area with sun loungers. The Lodge offers complimentary Wi-Fi.

Activities

Guided nature drives are available from the lodge twice a day. Guests will have the chance to see abundant game species including Cheetah, Leopard, Brown Hyena, Jackal, Buffalo, Hippo, Rhino, Giraffe, Zebra, Eland, Red Hartebeest, Kudu, Nyala, Mountain Reedbuck, and the elusive Aardvark and Aardwolf.

Besides being home to an abundant species of game, our reserve is also home to 32 species of butterflies and 311 species of birds, including the rare Pel's Fishing Owl and Narina Trogon. The Reserve is also home to Black Eagles, Lappet-Faced and White-Backed Vultures, Crowned Eagles and nine breeding pairs of Blue Cranes.
