Two injured, two arrested in Oceanside campground stabbing (original) (raw)

Two people were arrested in connection with a stabbing in an Oceanside campground early Saturday that left two victims hospitalized, authorities said.

Police were called at about 2:15 a.m. to the Pacific Harbor Campground on North Pacific Street near Harbor Drive, where they found a woman lying on the ground and bleeding from her head. They also found a teenage boy with a minor stab wound on his back and several abrasions.

The victims, described only as Hispanic, were taken to a hospital to be treated, police spokesperson Heather Mitchell said.

Based on videos witnesses provided to law enforcement, a 30-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, Mitchell added.

No details about what led to the stabbing were immediately available.

Authorities ask anyone with information to contact Detective Sgt. Dave Estrada at (760) 435-4698 or email DEstrada@oceansideca.org.
