Celebrating its golden anniversary this month, the 600-capacity music venue in San Diego's North County has hosted such major artists as Bonnie Raitt, Jimmy Cliff, The Killers, Lady Gaga, the Count Basie Orchestra, Willie Nelson, Buddy Guy, Sun Ra, Elvis Costello, Jill Scott, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Hunter S. Thompson.
The Rolling Stones are take a bow after the legendary band’s Belly Up show in 2015.. The group’s touring saxophonist, Karl Denson (second from right), hails the intimate venue as his favorite place to perform in the nation.
