Trump booed by NYC fans during Knicks NBA Finals Game 3 at MSG (original) (raw)

President Donald Trump, the first sitting president to attend an NBA Finals game, got a chilly reception from the home crowd in Monday’s Game 3 matchup between the Knicks and San Antonio Spurs.

Prior to tip-off, Trump was shown on the jumbotron during the national anthem, which was met by a large chorus of boos from the sold-out Garden crowd.

Trump stood and saluted as the crowd reacted to seeing him on the jumbotron.

The mood was similar at the Bryant Park watch party. When Trump was shown on the screen during the anthem, the park exploded with boos.

Trump, a native New Yorker, has become a highly polarizing and controversial figure in his hometown.
