A Long Island native, Dr. Hemmers earned his undergraduate degree in economics from Duke University, graduating cum laude. He went on to attend the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he graduated first in his class and received the Sydney Simon Award for distinction in immunology.
Dr. Hemmers completed his pediatric residency at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City—a globally recognized center for food allergy research—followed by a fellowship in allergy and immunology at Long Island College Hospital in Brooklyn, where he served as chief resident.
Outside of his clinical practice, Dr. Hemmers enjoys running, reading and spending time with his wife and three children in Weston, Connecticut. He is also an avid supporter of Tottenham Hotspurs.
