For over 115 years, Scouting America has prepared young people for lives of impact and purpose, guided by values like teamwork, respect, and responsibility. Over 130 million young men and women have participated in Scouting America’s youth programs, and more than 35 million adult volunteers have supported its mission since its founding in 1910.

The Scouting Edge: A Study in Ethics and Character in America was conducted by Scouting America in partnership with the Harris Poll. For leadership, character and ethics, Scouting’s programs offer what parents, employers and leaders are looking for in America’s youth

Be Prepared is Scouting’s motto, and we prepare our youth for success in whatever they choose to do. With over 30 Merit Badges directly related to workforce development, Scouts have the skills and experience for future success.

Scouting America is joining the nationwide initiative aimed at addressing the critical issue of waterway and marine debris, “aquatic trash”, offering Scouts the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the health of our waterways and ecosystems.
