'The early development of female sexuality' is based on a case study of a young woman whose genitals were discovered by a psychiatrist. The woman's secretive attitude towards her own genitalia contributed to the general mystification by her preference for interest in the male organ. The present paper is a response to a paper published in THE INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF psychoanalysis in OCTOBER 1927.
