The SIS was formed in 1974 in response to the growing interest in global cosmic catastrophes, and takes an objective interdisciplinary interested in subjects as diverse as astrophysics, ancient history, geology and mythology. The society:

Publishes the academic journal C&C Review

Investigates modern cosmic global catatrophism

Investigates revised chronology and ancient history

Organises conferences, meetings and talks

Offers back issues of its journals

Supports an online public forum

Offers a number of membership entitlements

UK-based with a worldwide membership

A non-profit UK Charity No. 286264

Includes academics and lay people

Welcomes contributions from authors

Publishes a free online news service
