Nikon Binocular Deals: Frequently asked questions
Which are the best Nikon binoculars for star gazing?
This answer will depend on your budget and how much you're willing to spend to see those celestial views. We really loved the Nikon 10x50 Aculon A211 Binocular voting it as the best entry-level binocular for astronomy but similarly, the Nikon Monarch HG 10x42 binoculars were voted as the best for optical performance and performed well during twilight hours. There is a big price difference between these two models though and, with the Monarch HG not currently being on offer, this is a very steep difference. Another contender is the Nikon 18x70 Astroluxe XL which has more aperture again and a huge amount off this holiday season, although we would say these are for more experienced stargazers. Ultimately, it comes down to the aperture so the larger the better to see those distant sky objects.
How do I know what Nikon binoculars I need?
This answer will depend on what you are wanting to see through your binoculars. The larger the aperture, the better suited to viewing the night sky they'll be while the lower apertures can handle daytime viewing easier so will be suitable for wildlife viewing. Alongside the magnification and aperture, some models of binocular will have their field of view printed on the barrels. This number in degrees lets you know how wide a view you have when gazing through the eyepieces. Bear in the mind that the larger the number is, the wider the scene will be. This can be handy for helping you decide what pair of Nikon binoculars are best for your needs.
There are also other things to consider such as if you wear glasses, you'll want to go for a higher eye relief at a minimum of 14mm for comfort.
