Online food delivery service Just Eat Takeaway.com has agreed an expansive sponsorship deal with Uefa covering 11 of the European soccer body’s national team and club competitions.
Under the terms of the deal, Just East will become a ‘Uefa women’s football partner’ for the next four years, providing it with sponsorship rights across the Uefa Women’s Champions League club competition and the Uefa Women’s Euro national team tournament, which next takes place in England in 2022.
On the men’s side, Just Eat will sponsor the Uefa Champions League, Uefa Europa League and the newly created Uefa Conference League from 2021 until 2024, adding to its previously agreed deal to be the official food delivery platform partner of this summer’s rescheduled 2020 Uefa European Championship.
Other competitions covered in the wide-ranging agreement include the Uefa Super Cup, the Uefa Futsal Champions League and the Uefa Youth League, as well as the Uefa Women’s Futsal Euro and the Uefa European Women’s Under-19 and Under-17 Championships.
Just Eat’s sponsorship rights will include exposure opportunities such as stadium LED board advertising, as well as exclusive on-site activation experiences.
In addition to the competitions, Just Eat will partner with Uefa’s Together #WePlayStrong initiative, which aims to encourage more girls and women to play soccer.
“Our strategy is to pair our premium household brands with the most premium sport events on the planet,” said Jitse Groen, chief executive and founder of Just Eat. “It is especially important for us to sponsor both the women’s and the men’s tournaments. Our brand is for everybody, and sports should be too. We share these goals with Uefa.”
