Rasch Measurement - Further Topics - Statistics.com: Data Science, Analytics & Statistics Courses (original) (raw)
Overview
This course builds on previous knowledge of Rasch theory and the Winsteps software program. It focuses on teaching students to not only analyze data, but present it in a clear and powerful way. Students will learn how to screen data and make judicious data selection and editing decisions. Previous experience using Winsteps and Excel is recommended.
- Intermediate, Advanced
- 4 Weeks
- Expert Instructor
- Tuiton-Back Guarantee
- 100% Online
- TA Support
Learning Outcomes
At the conclusion of this course students will be able to import data from SPSS, SAS, Stata and Excel, install and operate Winsteps software, and analyze dichotomous and polytomous data. They will investigate test functioning and test equating with a goal of successfully analyzing data and communicating their findings to decision makers.
- Deal with missing data
- Calculate correlations and local fit-statistics
- Estimate polytomous models
- Deal with differential item functioning
- Perform test equating
Who Should Take This Course
Survey researchers, social scientists who use surveys or questionnaires in their work, education assessment analysts and managers.
Our Instructors
Dr. Everett V. Smith, Jr
Everett V. Smith Jr. obtained his Ph.D. in Educational Psychology with a specialization inMeasurement and Evaluation from the University of Connecticut in 1995. He specializes inpsychometrics, specifically Rasch measurement. His research interests and expertise includetest and rating scale design and analysis for the measurement of latent constructs, testing modelrobustness, and, in general, applications of Rasch measurement in the social, behavioral, health, rehabilitation, and medical sciences for both criterion and norm-referenced assessments. Amongthese applications include studies of dimensionality, DIF, cross-cultural equivalence, equating, item banking, rating scale optimization, and standard setting.
