Arkansas TV Foundation secures funding to keep PBS affiliation for next three years | Stuttgart Daily Leader (original) (raw)

LITTLE ROCK — The Arkansas TV Foundation has secured enough funding to keep the state affiliated with PBS for at least the next three years.
The Arkansas TV Foundation announced yesterday that it had achieved its goal.
The Arkansas Educational Television Commission voted last year to disaffiliate from PBS after losing $2.5 million in federal funding from the Corporation of Public Broadcasting.
The Commission voted in March to delay the disaffiliation after receiving more than 1,500 emails opposing the decision in March. Since then, the Foundation has secured the full amount of the fiscal year 2027 PBS dues as well as a $1.5 million commitment for the next two years.
